July 23, 2026

Register for the NCShare Crash Course, a free, full-day, hands-on workshop designed to help researchers successfully get started with NCShare and high-performance computing (HPC) resources!

Wednesday, August 19, 2026
9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
The Power House, 300 Fuller Street, Durham, NC

This interactive workshop will be co-led by the NCShare team and NCShare researchers:

Jonathan Schultz, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry, North Carolina Central University

Alejandro Cardenas-Avendano, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Physics, Wake Forest University

Designed for anyone new to high-performance computing (HPC) or NCShare, the workshop will combine practical instruction from both experienced researchers and HPC administrators. Participants will gain hands-on experience with topics such as:

  • Getting started with NCShare and HPC fundamentals
  • Navigating the cluster environment and managing data
  • Submitting and monitoring jobs
  • Understanding CPUs, GPUs, and parallel workflows
  • Scientific visualization and research computing best practices

Participants will leave with practical skills, example workflows, and resources they can immediately apply to their own research. The workshop is being planned as a highly interactive, hands-on experience focused on helping users move from “I have access” to “I can run my first meaningful job.”
